Wilco, Pitchfork After-Parties, and This Week's Shows!

Hey Hey Everyone,
If you didn’t catch the announcement on XRT this morning, we are so excited to announce that Wilco will headline the Hideout Block Party / A.V. Fest this September 14th-15th outside of The Hideout!
The band is fresh off one of the biggest headlining gigs of their long and storied career at the Kane County Ballpark in Geneva, IL. We’re happy to welcome them to the Cook County as part of our intimate, homegrown, family-friendly, all-ages celebration right in the center of the city.
Wilco is the final addition to an incredible lineup that also includes Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard, Wye Oak, The War On Drugs, Lee Fields & The Expressions, The Corin Tucker Band, Wild Belle, The Waco Brothers w/ Paul Burch, CAVE, The Lawrence Peters Outfit, Guitarkestra, and special performances by Redmoon Theatre. That many of these bands have strong Chicago connections is no coincidence!
Two-day passes for the Hideout Block Party / A.V. Fest are on sale now at hideoutchicago.com. We tried to keep them reasonable, at $50 (plus applicable fees) for two great nights of music.  These $50 passes are only available for a limited time so get them before it’s too late. As always, the Block Party will also benefit a bunch of charities; this year it’s Rock For Kids, Literacy Works, Drummond Elementary School, and Oscar Mayer Elementary School.
In the coming weeks we will announce which bands will be playing on which days, and the availability of single-day tickets. (We’d advise snapping up a two-day pass, though, both for good value and because our venue isn’t exactly huge.)
Alright on to this week’s shows…
Tonight is the triumphant return of Veggie Bingo which will be taking place every Wednesday from 5:30-8:00pm until September 26th.  We’ll be calling games and grilling dogs at the Hideout to support Chicago’s community gardens. Bingo cards are $2 each, or 3 for $5; all proceeds benefit local gardens. Our callers July 11 are photographer Jim Newberry and recording engineer Stan Wood.
