This Week At The Hideout

Hey Hey Everyone,
Thanks again so much to everyone who came out to the Just For Laughs fest here at The Hideout last week.  We still can’t believe Aziz Ansari, Patton Oswalt, Janeane Garfalo, Jon Glaser, Hannibal Buress, Brian Posehn, Amy Schumer, Kyle Kinane, and loads of other amazing comedians graced our stage during the weekend. Too much fun.
A quick heads up that we’ve got less than 25 tickets left for the early Kelly Hogan show on July 22nd and tickets are moving swiftly for the second show as well later that evening.
There’s a big Hideout Block Party announcement coming atcha’ on Monday morning, but if you haven’t heard already…Iron & Wine, Glen Hansard, Lee Fields & The Expressions, The Corin Tucker Band, The Waco Brothers w/ Paul Burch, and Redmoon Theater have all been confirmed for the big show!
Tickets are on-sale here for a $50 two-day pass
We’ve got an action packed week here so let’s get into it…
Tonight we’ve are so excited to have the psychedelic sounds and visuals of Verma back after they melted our minds at Psych Fest back in January.  They’ll be joined by Toupee and Soft Jolts.
Friday we’ve got an early show with the always hilarious NedTalks: Spreading Worthless Ideas.
Later that evening we’ve got a stellar double bill with the sweet country soul sounds of Honey & Buffalo  and the always memorable Jim Becker Group.
Saturday we are very excited to have Man Is Man back at the Hideout.  This time around Christa has added some new members to the band and be sure to tune into WBEZ’s 848 Friday morning to get a sneak preview of this new incarnation of the band.  They’ll be joined by the always eclectic Natural Information Society.  Josh Abrahms makes playing the guimbri waaaaay too easy.  Kicking things off will be the melodic and hazy sounds of The Glorious Vapors.
The dance party that evening will be none of other than Life During Wartime who will help you dance your ass off on this first Saturday of the summer season.
Sunday is the annual A Day In The Country festival. Now in its sixth year, this daylong event is the brainchild of curator Lawrence
Peters, popular Chicago musician, DJ, bartender, and man about town. A Day In The Country was designed to give people the experience of attending a real live hootenanny, complete with front-porch pickin’ and backroom honky tonkin’.  Check out this monster lineup all for a mere $10!
