This week at the H/O

Hi!
Let’s do short and sweet this week. We’re still tired from the car thing last week. But, not too tired to say; this week is getting us revved up. Get it? Oh the hilarity …
First: What a good way to get great local veggies into your life. Peasants’ Plot is still accepting members into the Peasants’ Plot CSA for Thursday pick-up at the Hideout! Many people may assume it is too late–BUT IT IS NOT TOO LATE TO BECOME A PEASANT!  Contact Julia@peasantsplot.com for more info.
OK…. This WEEK!
Tonight, The Astronomer (naive tales wrapped in rustic orchestrations of pedal steel, vibraphone, upright bass, creaking electronics and floating voice) with The Field Auxiliary and Mutts.
Friday, “spine-cracking” 21st-century punk rockers from DE-troit, Terrible Twos.  With Paul Cary & the Small Scaries  and The Runnies. The Reader says Paul Cary is working a musical groove that goes “all the way back to the jazzy prewar blues that helped set the stage for the birth of rock ‘n’ roll.
Then Saturday is REAL SPECIAL. I’m not kidding. First, Holcombe Waller headlines a show with Haley Bonar and Judson Claiborne in support. Singer-songwriter heaven. It will be amazing.  Gapers Block says so.
CHANCES DANCES! The Reader’s Best of Chicago choice for Best LGBT Dance Party! Enough said about that.
Monday is Robbie Fulks with his openish-mic-July 4th-party! Free food! No cover! He promises lots of musical guests to keep your toes tappin’ while he grills up hot dogs for y’all on the Weber. The Tribune tells you more.
A QUICK NOTE: Robbie Fulks plays every Monday from 7 to 9 (or thereabouts). Last week, for some reason, we had a whole passel of folks wander in around 10 wondering when the band started. D’oh! You missed it!
And the stalwart Barehand Jugband holds down Tuesday.
That’s it! Except .. OH YEAH.
THE HIDEOUT BLOCK PARTY RETURNS THIS YEAR ON SEPTEMBER 24. DETAILS COMING SOON. WATCH THIS SPACE. IT IS GOING TO BE SO GREAT.
