First off, tickets are now on sale for this years Hideout Block Party / Onion & A.V. Fest on Friday September 5 and Saturday September 6, 2014. Our early bird tickets sold out in just a few hours so don’t delay on snagging our limited $65 two day passes!  Get them here today!
On to this week’s events!
Tonight, the Chicago Artist Coalition is throwing Creative Crossings.  In this edition of Creative Crossingsthey bring together Chicago’s literary and music communities at a hub for words and sounds, our bar!  Come mingle with other like-minded creative individuals!
LaterImmediate Sound Series presents Party Knüllers meet Jim Baker.  Two sets to be performed by JimBaker on electronics, Staale Liavik on drums & Fred LonbergHolm on cello.
Thursday, we have Dorian TajBlasted Diplomats and Prichard.  Covering the spectrum of Chicago’s indie music scene these three bands play driving guitar-based rock. This is also the celebration of Dorian Taj’s new album release “Giant”.
Friday, we kick off with some comedy from Funny Ha-Ha.  Featuring readings from Jessica Coen, Steve Gadlin, Kelsie Huff, Monte LaMonte, Erica Reid and Mimi Smartypants this is one of the funniest reading series in all of Chicago.  Proceeds benefit the Neighborhood Writing Alliance.
Later, we have the blues rock of Left on Carroll in a special benefit show.  Proceeds of this show benefit theRobert R Baumann Jr. Foundation in their research on prostate cancer.  Opening up we have The Sugar Factory and Comin in Heavy.
Saturday, we have the Late Late Breakfast at 3pm.  Chicago’s only comedy show for a drunken, weirdSaturday afternoon. Hosted by lovable scamps Tyler Jackson and Danny Maupin, Late Late Breakfast is a unique mixed-format standup show that offers something for everybody: Featured sets from some of Chicago’s finest comedians, open mic slots where up-and-coming talent can sharpen their latest jokes.  Check out this write-up in the Chicago Reader.
Later, we have another record release!  This time from the rollicking Me Jane who are releasing their debut album!   With influences from Sonic Youth to Electrelane this band is poised to climb high!  Opening up is Flesh Panthers and Impulsive Hearts.
At midnight, we offer a new dance party Home Skillet.  A celebration of all things 80s and 90s, bring your slap bracelets and get on the dance floor!.
Sunday, we have Get Off the Couch‘s 4 year anniversary.  One of Chicago’s longest singer-songwriter showcases tonight they present songs from Antony &the TrampsMiles NielsenAlex Pataky and Honey & the 45s.
MondayRobbie Fulks is performing Bob Dylan’s “Basement Tapes” with a full band on this very special evening.
Tuesday, we have the literary death-match Write Club.  Hosted by Ian Belknap this series is violent, bloody and full of wit in which you, the audience, decides who wins or dies by the pen.
Later, we have the 3rd night of blues wonder kid Davy Knowles.  With guitar licks that soar and a stomping drive to his brand of blues, catch him now in this rare period where he is in Chicago.  He’s performing two sets every Tuesday starting at nine, second to last chance to check it out!
