Happy Halloweek friends.  Lots of fun events going on here this week so lets get it popping!
Tonight, Immediate Sound Series presents NRG Ensemble who will be presenting Hal-the-Weenie.  Come get spooked out by two sets of eerie free jazz.
Thursday, its Halloween proper and we are bringing back some seminal Chicago bands back from the dead.  After two years of silence, local sextet, DETHOLZ! will reform this October to curate “Jukebox of the Dead… Reanimated!” on Halloween, a night of adult contemporary and soft rock favorites retooled for a funereal setting: “All the songs you love to hate to love.” Detholz! plan to reprise the original “Jukebox of the Dead” show from 2001.  Manishevtiz will “reanimate” and join Detholz! for their first show in 7 years. The band will perform their most celebrated record “City Life” (Jagjaguwar) in honor of its 10 year anniversary.  Tickets going fast!
Friday, we have the Interview Show hosted by Mark Bazer. This weeks guests include Rich Cohen, author of “Monsters”, Tony Hu, Chef of Lao Sze Chaun, Bill Siegel, director of “The Trials of Muhammad Ali” plus music by Advance Base’s Owen Ashworth.  Show starts right at 7!
Later, Jimmy Whispers presents the Summer in Pain Festival.  Proceeds from this event are going toCeasefire.  Tonight, lo-fi pop act Advance Base headlines a bill that includes Plastic Crimewave Syndicate,Cool Memories and J Fernandez.  Chicago celebrities will be stopping by and Summer in Pain street art will be decorating our back room.
Saturday, the Summer in Pain Festival continues where Jimmy Whispers himself will close out the night.  This monster bill also includes sets from Chandeliers, Yawn, Mines and Ono.  It will be a night of variety, dancing, electric lo-fi vibes and lots of good cheer.  Come and support a great cause and see some of Chicago’s best while doing so.

Monday, we happily welcome the return of Robbie Fulks.  After taking the summer off to record he returns to his residency with Ron Spears and Robbie Gjersoe too perform a night of bluegrass tunes.
Tuesday, the feminist pop-culture gabfest Pop Goes Alicia Live! is back.  This has been a really fun addition to the Hideout’s variety show series.  Tonights panel includes comedian Erin Lane, Huffington Post editor Joe Erbentraut and blogger Carly Oishi.
Later, we begin a new Tuesday Night Residency Series with composer Jeff Thomas taking the helm for all ofNovember.  Jeff will use his residency as an open rehearsal of sketches for a new symphony to be premiered early next year. This symphony will be the second from his project “The Work of Jack Daedalus Edwards”. The rehearsals will begin at 9:30 pm are open to the public, who are encouraged to drink for the benefit of the composer and musicians, who plan on making many creative mistakes.
