This Week at the Hideout!

Hello all!
Glad to see you and hope you’re coming to terms with it being August already.  Can’t say that I am but as we move along lets do it together here at the Hideout!
Block Party tickets are on sale now.  We are only 5 short weeks away so get them now!
Tonight we have the Hideout’s Veggie Bingo.  Tonight the proceeds are going to the Altgeld Sawyer Corner Farm and the prizes are just waiting to be won!
Later, the Immediate Sound Series presents Brötzmann / Vandermark / Drake / Taylor.  Peter Brötzmannplayed here last week and the reviews were stellar.  Come see him tonight if you missed it or if you’re ready to have your mind expanded as he plays with Ken Vandermark, Hamid Drake and Chad Taylor.
Thursday night we have Paper Thick Walls who play an elegant mix of deep, reflective and at times haunting music.  The Fatty Acids from Milwaukee craft raw, carefree pop-ish tunes.   Kicking things of is The Kuhls.
Friday, we have the Interview Show hosted by Mark Bazar.  In the hot seat this week are author of “Moms Who Drink and Swear” Nicole KnepperDoug Sohn of Hot Dougs, writer and director of “Drinking Buddies”Joe Swanberg, and Executive Chef of Sepia Andrew Zimmerman.
Later, things get rocking with the triple bill of More Killer, Divino Nino, and Brother Ember.  Get ready for a night of eccentric rock and roll that spans a variety of styles from psych to pop to indie.
Saturday, the Iraq Veteran’s Against the War host a benefit headlined by Marvin Tate’s D-Settlement.  Come early because a screening of the acclaimed documentary Four Days in Chicago will start things off at 8.  Also performing are the Warrior Writers and DJ Naomi Walker.
Then, we have the best dance party in town, Chances Dances begins at midnight.
We’re closed on Sunday for a private event.
Monday, we welcome the acclaimed intuitive folk music of Diane Cluck.  Known for oblique vocal harmonies on recording, her live show focuses on singing as a healing, textural experience, leaving space in which listeners may wander, ponder or simply be.  For her show at The Hideout, Diane will be accompanied by imaginative, classically-trained cellist Isabel Castellvi.
On Tuesday, we are beyond thrilled to welcome Rick Sherry and Joel Paterson of Devil in the Woodpile to hold down the fort for the August Tuesday Night Residency Series.  Country, blues, hot jazz and hillbilly, all will have you stomping your feet so come on out!
See you soon!
