This Week at the Hideout!

Hello friends!
The weather has been beautiful lately!  Perfect time to stop by the Hideout and enjoy an adult beverage on our patio and check out some great bands and comedians!  This week is no exception.
First off, get your Hideout Block Party tickets now!  Killer line-up with Young the Giant, Neko Case, Mavis Staples and many many more!
Wednesday we kick things off with Veggie Bingo.  Caller for this week is Catherine Smitko and proceeds are going to the Ron Rains Ruby Garden.  Come get a hot dog and win big!
Later the Immediate Sound Series presents Mazurek/Baker/Abrams/Zerang.  A night with two sets and only an $8 cover its a perfect time to let your mind expand and explore improvisational jazz.
Thursday we are getting chill in contrast to the muggy weather with an electronic night of Ken CamdenCircuit des Yeux, and Alex Barnett.  All are creating beautiful soundscapes that are pushing the boundaries of new electronic music.
Friday we start the night off with the comedy show NEDtalks: Spreading Worthless Ideas.  A take-down of the sometimes pretentious TEDtalks, hosts Kellen Alexander and Seth Dodson are unafraid to answer the really stupid questions of our time.  Resident Hideout historian Paul Durica guest stars as an actual expert!
Later things get downright rollicking as we welcome JD Wilkes & the Dirt Daubers back to the Hideout.  They’ll be singing their mix of rockabilly, country, and blues loud and proud!  The Lawrence Peters Outfit is up second with their scrappy honky tonk.  Female-fronted trio The Dyes starts things off with their punchy rock n’ roll sound.
Saturday we welcome Bad Bad Meow with a signature americana punk sound.  Opening up is She Speaks in Tongues which if you’ve never seen come on out, looping vocals and playing a one-stringed guitar, Kate McCandless is someone to watch.  The pop-gaze of Videotape starts us out.
Closed on Sunday.
Important! Monday! This is Robbie Fulks last show until October so come get your fill before he’s gone on a well-deserved summer break.  Playing the rockabilly of 1950s George Jones this will be a rocking way to say goodbye for a little bit.
Tuesday we start off at 7 with Fictlicious.  Fictlicious are live events featuring writers reading original short fiction, and musicians performing original music and creative covers, all based upon a theme. The theme this week is BAD.
Later the genius Abraham Levitan continues his residency by performing a set of brand new material!  For someone who is a master cover artist and improv extradanaire its will be great to see whats been percolating in that twisty mind of his!
That is all! Come on by.
