This Week At The Hideout

Hey Everyone,
Tonight brings the dynamic and subtle sounds of local favorites Stolen Silver along with Go Long Mule and their outlandish sonic debauchery.
Friday we’ve got a fantastic show that embraces all the things we love about rock n’ roll in all its various forms with The Sleeptalkers and The Faders sharing the bill and DJ Cynthia Plastercaster spinning records all night long.
Saturday we’ve got an early afternoon event with The Post-It Notes Diaries book release party. This American Life’s Starlee Kein, along with Arthur Jones and David Wilcox will all be on hand to do readings from their hysterical new book & projected behind them will be various outlandish post-it note doodles from Mr. Jones.
Later in the evening is a double record release party for, AZITA and Meg Baird. They each have wonderful new albums out on Drag City and Azita will be featuring our new baby grand piano for the first time during her sure to be haunting set!
Finally we’ll close out this action packed Saturday with The A-Team comprised of Andrea Jablonski and Mitch Cocanig who will be bringing the heavy jams into the wee hours of the morning for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Sunday is another installment of The Hideout Gets Heavy Annual Halloween Hurt with Indian, Rabid Rabbit, Bloodyminded, DJ Steven Hess, and visuals by Kelly Reaves do get you into the holiday spirit.
Tuesday we’ve got Fictlicious reading and performing music related to the idea of “Family Ties.” That will be followed by Mar Caribe who will bringing their highly eclectic sounds to the front bar later that night.
Wednesday is the highly anticipated Soup n’ Bread Book Release Party featuring soups from West Town Tavern, Swim Cafe, the Butcher & Larder, Milk & Honey Cafe, Mana Food Bar, Revolution Brewing, Longman & Eagle, Bite Cafe and others! Bread will be coming from La Farine Bakery, beer from Revolution Brewery, and DJ Michael Bulington will be spinning records all night long. Copies of the book will be for sale and proceeds from the event will be going to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Afterwards feel free to stick around as the Immediate Sound Series hosts a kickoff cocktail party to their upcoming Umbrella Music Festival that weekend.
