As you may know, the Hideout made the difficult decision to close. Workers across the hospitality industry—whose livelihoods depend on people gathering together—-are suffering the immediate health and economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. If you would like to help our beloved and charming staff weather this storm, please “tip” the staff if you like at this on-line “Virtual Tavern.”  We will be withdrawing donations weekly and dividing 100% of them (after GoFundMe fees) between Hideout staffers.

We will keep you posted as things develop, and we develop other ways we can all help our staff, performers, and community.
Let’s all stay healthy, and take care of each other.
“There is still Kindness and Goodness!”
–Katie, Tim, Mike, Jim, Alice, Sully and everyone at the Hideout

In support of Chicago’s diverse and legendary music industry, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events have designated 2021 as the “Year of Chicago Music.” This citywide focus on music is one of the first of its kind in the U.S. The City of Chicago and its partners working with the local music industry will present "Chicago In Tune" (August 19 – September 19), a new annual music festival; launch a major marketing campaign for Chicago music; provide additional financial grants for musicians and music projects; encourage dialog around inclusion and equity; and call on civic, philanthropic, arts and business leaders to support the music industry.
