Press roundup 2/9

The rest of Chicago may still be digging out from the snow — but I’m trying to dig out from under the avalanche of press about all the great stuff happening this week at the Hideout. Check it:
Tonight (Friday) The Interview Show welcomes “Style Rookie” Tavi Gevinson, along with the always suave Archer Prewitt, local foods advocate Cleetus Friedman, and author Bethany McClean. Michigan Avenue has the scoop.
Looking ahead, the Reader’s Miles Raymer gives the nod to Sunday’s Joan of Arc Lightbox Orchestra mashup, and the paper also offers a peek at Saturday’s Coach House Sounds Market. And there’s another writeup about the market over at the blog Reviewsit, which recommends it for all your Valentine’s Day needs — especially if your valentine is a fan of Plastic Crimewave.
Meanwhile, Andrew’s Post-Snowpocalptic Weekend Show Preview at Windy City Rock recommends *all three nights* at the H/O, starting with the Moondoggies on Friday, Roommate and Shapers on Saturday, and then, again, the JoALO on Sunday. Football game? What football game?
If all this future action is just too much to handle, you can take a little trip to the past — or, last weekend — with Rob Reid’s sweet Gapers Block review of Steve Dawson’s show January 28. Note that Steve just can’t stay away, and will be back at the H/O this Monday (2/7) as part of the band backing Robbie Fulks for his tribute to Liz Phair.
You might as well just move in. Why not? Thanks to our neighbors at the Streets and San maintenance shed, we’ve probably got the cleanest street in the city!
