Every year the Chicago Reader comes out with a list of best things to do in Chicago and the best places to do them. We’ve made appearances on the list in the past, but this year we made the list for a category we haven’t always been known for: comedy. We’ve spent the past years curating an arena for Chicago-based comics to perform and experiment and have become a comedy destination for shows both local and national. From HELLTRAP NIGHTMARE to Beth Stelling and Bobcat Goldthwait, we’ve seen just about every and any comedic form take to the Hideout stage. This year the Reader awarded us the ‘Best Venue for Stand-Up’
