The Lawrence Peters Outfit
The Lawrence Peters Outfit play un-ruined country music, a term Lawrence coined to describe the band’s original, deep-rooted, honky tonk sound. They are 2019 and 2018 Ameripolitan Award nominees, in the Best Honky Tonk Group category, two time winners of the “Best Country And Western Entertainer” trophy (Chicago Music Awards), and “Best Country Band” in The Chicago Reader’s “Best Of 2022” poll.

Gunslingers

Female fronted dark country. After touring solo for two years, I’ve finally put a full country/ bluegrass band together to back me (double bass, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and me on guitar). Clever, dark, introspective lyrics, lead by mountain-mama style vocals.

Hollow Down
This is a two piece double bass, and archtop guitar. This is a high energy duo with male / male harmonies, and a very dark, insurgent feel. Perry Brubaker has Tom Waits-esque vocals, and Jon Howard is an ordained minister, in the best way. They mostly perform originals, but have covered both Rancid’s ‘Indestructible’, and Tennessee Ernie Ford’s ‘Sixteen Tons.’ They’re working on releasing their first EP, so the link below is they’re Tiny Desk submission.

Montana Suede is a powerhouse of a solo, singer songwriter. He writes brilliant and captivating lyrics, and performs with a soulful and technical vocal prowess. This is like soulful, pop country. Sadly, some of his faster, more high-energy work hasn’t been recorded yet, but what he has recorded is very representative of his guitar work, writing and vocal performance. He is also a localish boy with a decent following – from Woodstock, IL.

Bre comes to us from UT for her first tour. She is a very talented singer songwriter who plays piano. She has a striking vocal performance. As an up and comer, we’re trying to show her off a little. She has no recordings yet, but please enjoy this video of her singing her song ‘Weary Heart,’ accompanied by our friend Devin Knight (Helper, UT).
