It’s going to be a totally awesome!
Saturday afternoon we have Late Late Breakfast. The Late Late Breakfast presents a new reason to roll out of bed early on the weekend. Chicago’s only comedy show for a drunken, weird Saturday afternoon. Hosted by lovable scamps Tyler Jackson and Danny Maupin, Late Late Breakfast is a unique mixed-format standup show that offers something for everybody
Saturday evening we host Songs of Stephanie Morris & Dianogah. There are many reasons we are hosting this tribute but one is to mark the official release of the Stephanie Morris and the Rest album she recorded in 2007, but which has gone largely unheard until tonight when it is released on CDR and digitally. To commemorate it, Stephanie’s good friend and fellow musician Holly Muñoz will join Devon and Chris, the original members of the Rest, to perform several songs from the record. Dianogah, the rock band Stephanie toured with and appeared on their last album, will headline. Proceeds from the door will be given to Girls Rock! Chicago, a charity that encourages young women to become involved with music. We look to honor her life and memory tonight and hope you will attend.
At midnight, Chances Dances comes out with all of their qt lqqks and tunes to get your dance feet moving. Proceeds from this LGBTQ party goes to the Critical Fierceness grant with supports queer artists.
Sunday, Get Off the Couch presents Bonzie. Bonzie, who is generating an enormous amount of buzz in the local and national press is doing the headlining set. Joining Bonzie in the rounds will be Gia Margaret, Cpt. Captain’s Kevin Smith, and Sharon Irving. As always, Sam Wahl will be the host with the most!
Monday, the alt-country star with the wit made of gold Robbie Fulks is performing with Gerald Dowd.
Tuesday, its Election Night and First Tuesday with Mick and Ben are blowing it out with a show from 7 to 9 (after the polls have closed). Come out and have a beer and listen to what Chicago’s best political reporters and special guests have to say as the results come in.
Later, we begin John Hasbrouck’s month long residency for November. Tonight The Northside Southpaws play the front room. The Northside Southpaws are an all-left-handed, all-resophonic mandolin/guitar duo based in Chicago who perform obsolete ragtime, archaic country, proto-grass, turn-of-the-century waltzes and other obscure string band music on lefty resonator instruments. A rare appearance by Hardscrabble will also be made.
Hope to see you soon!
