This Week at the Hideout!

Hello friends!
The sun is shining, the snow is melting and it’s time to pull yourself out from the cracks of your coach cushion and come check out what he have going on this week!
Tonight as rivers of melting snow start flooding Chicago’s streets, the fine folks at Soup & Bread celebrate the rushing waters with this week’s theme, “The River.” Guest cooks include Erin Drain, Steve Hinkey, Jane Huchinson, Drew from Flesh for Food and more to come. Our guest dj is Bloodshot Records’ Scott Schaefer, and pay what you can donations go to benefit Common Pantry in Ravenswood.
Later, Immediate Sound Series presents Rempis /Lonberg-Holm/Giallorenzo/Riordan.  Featuring two sets with Dave Rempis on saxophones, Fred Lonberg-Holm on cello, Paul Gialkorenzo on piano & Marc Riordan on the drums.
Thursday we have The Astronomer and Royal Pines.  An evening of great country rock with touchstones to The Band and the sonics of Brian Eno and Brian Wilson to come!
Friday we have a special addition of Funny Ha-Ha where they are taking us to the movies!  Hosted by ClaireZulkey and featuring funny film guy Steve Dalahovde this will be much better then the Oscars!    Proceeds benefit the Neighborhood Writing Alliance.
Later as part of Dunn Dunn Fest we present Martin van Ruin.  Released January 2014, Every Man a King is the full-length debut of van Ruin. The new project from some familiar Chicago faces (members of Derek Nelson & The Musicians, Jenny Dragon, Planetsexploder), Every Man a King was written over a year and recorded and engineered by Neil Strauch (Bonnie Prince Billy, Iron and Wine, Andrew Bird).  Opening up we have The Whiskey Gentry and Michele McGuire.
Saturday afternoon we present From Old Town to Greenwich Village: An Afternoon of the American Folk Revival.  Come spend a special winter afternoon discovering (or rediscovering) the music of the musicians who traversed between Chicago and New York City during this prolific period of folk American song.  Ed Holstein and Steve Dawson, who will perform separately and together present a special assortment of originals and covers. This show also marks Holstein’s Hideout debut!
Saturday night we have Pontiak.  Pontiak is three brothers that grew up and live on farms in Virginia. Their lifelong closeness yields uncommon musical understanding, creative collaboration and personal camaraderie. Their singular combination of impressive work ethic and boundless creativity pays off on their new album INNOCENCE.  Old Baby and Darling open.
Later get on your gongons and come to the DJPJ dance party!  Grown adults getting down in the PJs and boogieing down, what’s not to love!
Sunday, we have Making Out with Wes Perry.  A fantastic lineup of artists, story tellers and comedians make this show a unique event every time.
Monday we have Robbie Fulks with the Pussy Cat Trio.  Meow!
Tuesday we start off with comedy from the warped mind of Danny Black in the God, Sex and Death Variety Hour.
Later, Nora O’Connor ends her phenomenal month-long residency where she’ll be joined by her bluesy band Precious Blood with brother Danny Black and Kevin McDonough.
