Hello Hideout people of the world!
We can’t think of a better way to start off August than with these great shows below.
Tonight brings the freedom rock of The Statutes of Liberty, TITTY, and Mega Man vs. The United States Air Force for your listening pleasure.
Friday is going to be an epic Interview Show w/ Mark Bazer and his special guests: comedian Marc Maron, host of the podcast WTF With Marc Maron; newpaperman James O’Shea, editor of the Chicago News Cooperative and author of “The Deal From Hell”; superman Jon Langford, whose double-header book/CD Skull Orchard Revisited is out now from Bloodshot, and our very own Lawrence Peters, the hardest workin’ bartender/washboard player/smooth crooner in country music.
Then, immediately following, come Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside , who will be hot off the trails of their appearance on Letterman. The Reader’s Peter Margasak says Ford excels at “chewing up syllables like a wood chipper and singing with a bizarre hybrid of rockabilly sass, blues gravitas, and swing-era insouciance.” Nice.
Saturday we’ve got a sold-out show with The Head & the Heart and Lord Huron. For those of you who missed out on the tickets that were gone in, seriously, minutes, have a friend of yours who isn’t on our email list sign up and get in the running for a free pair of tickets to the show we’ll be giving away this Friday at noon.
It’s also the first Saturday night of the month which means Chances Dances — voted Best LGBT Dance Party by the Chicago Reader — are going to help you shake your ass into the wee hours of the morning.
Sunday is a fantastic triple bill with the enigmatic Canasta, plus Jonny Rogers, and Conductive Alliance. Here’s a teaser:

Monday is another evening with the illustrious Robbie Fulks and fiddler extraordinaire Jenny Scheinman in town from NYC. This one is going to be really special!
It is followed by the Hot Grits! dance party with DJs Jacob Ross and Lil Miss Lunch Money.
Tuesday will be all cozy in the front room with Sarah & the Tall Boys.
So come visit! It’s summertime, the living is easy, and the beer is cold.
