Greetings People!
It’s another (rainy) week, eh? How about some live music.
Tonight (Wednesday), the Immediate Sound Series brings us KLANG which Peter Margasak introduces nicely here. “James Falzone created relatively faithful arrangements of Goodman classics for his quartet Klang, but he transformed that swing-era music into something much more personal and contemporary.”
Thursday’s for delicate crooners of beautiful insight. Daniel Knox saunters up to the mic for his record release, with our own Judson Claiborne opening. Time Out gives Knox some love here.
Friday night we’re raising money for the kids, bluegrass style, with Hayward and more.
Vienna/Thrill Jockey’s Radian plugs in Saturday before a Girls Rock! Chicago dance party. Time Out says the Radian show makes up part of a primer on musique concrete for the uninitiated. Check it!
And don’t miss Loose Dudes on Monday, not only because they might still have those 2″ buttons with a roach clip glued to them in their merch selection but also because it’s one of their last shows EVER.
PLUS! Wabansia is now a tree-lined street. What?
