Folly GroupFrom the tumultuous melting-pot of the London musical circuit, Folly Group were cast. With three of the quartet moving in together to a house in Leyton (which would eventually become their studio too), Sean Harper, Louis Milburn and Tom Doherty inevitably found themselves experimenting. The addition of close friend Kai Akinde-Hummel, playing percussion and sampler, proved to be the missing piece of the puzzle, and soon Folly Group’s unique positioning of tone and atmosphere had morphed not just into a coherent project, but a furiously brilliant live prospect also.
The Curls
The Curls are an American rock band based in Chicago. They are known for sprawling high energy live shows full of improvisation, new age spirituality, psychedelic light shows and a community of militant and devoted fans. They have collaborated with artists like Sunburned Hand of the Man, Post Animal, Fran, and Glyders. They’ve previously performed at Pitchfork Music Festival and SXSW while extensively touring the United States and Canada. The current lineup formed in 2022 and has garnered comparisons to Talking Heads, CAN, Ween, Grateful Dead, Sun Ra and Minutemen. The group has released 3 singles in 2024 including “Kill The Cringe” and “Gatorade”.
