Tonight we have Aktar Aktar.  Aktar Aktar is a rock band with a sound like a tightrope act of modern American/British rock swinging over a safety net of the classics.  Co-headlining with Vic & Gab, a song writing sister duo who play mesmerizing, grooving, and powerfully catchy indie pop.
Friday, we start the night of with some comedy from the devious mind of Danny Black.  The God, Sex, Death Variety Hour starts at 6:30.
Later we have the record release show from the aggressive Fake Limbs.  Releasing their second LP on BLVD records, Fake Limbs is a loud, uncomfortable and sexually frustrated brand of music.  Opening up we have the stylish noise-rock of Jack Buck and The Cell Phones.
Saturday, at 3pm, we celebrate the release of the new book How to Win at Everything from the Onion writers Daniel Kibblesmith and Sam Axelrod.  Its a free event and bring your least favorite book to burn in homage to the best book ever written.
Later we have Brooklyn’s Barbez.  Wringing elements of avant-rock, Eastern European folksong, and post-war classical into an otherworldly soundscape this unique musical group shifts elegantly between meditative moments and sonic explosions.  The pysch rock of Spires That in the Sunset Rise and the sludge rock ofRabid Rabbit open.
Saturday night dance party is RETREAT.
Closed on Sunday
Monday, we welcome alt-country super star Robbie Fulks who is joined this week by the beloved Nora O’Conner.

And we finish off the night with another orchestral set from our artist in residence Jeff Thomas.  Working with some of the best musicians in Chicago, watch this masterful composer piece together a new symphony.
