We’re happy to announce the debut of a brand new market and music festival that will take place here onSaturday June 8 and Sunday June 9, from noon to dusk, it’s Bellwether!
Bellwether combines a creative menagerie of epicurean, purveyor, and experiential delights. It’s a celebration of locally produced goods, music, objects, and art; including records, speciality goods, vintage, home decor, and artisanal food. There will be food vendors and trucks, plus drinks to taste and tipple, including drafts fromRevolution Brewery, cocktails from Death’s Door, and wine from Oliver Winery.
Bellwether features performances outside The Hideout and in the street by Tortoise’s Jeff Parker, The Paulina Hollers, Abraham Levitan, Ami Saraiya & The Outcome, Black Bear Combo, and the Low Down Brass Band. Plus, DJ sets by Damon Locks, Tony Sarabia, Peter Margasak, Reckless Records, and more.
Also featured is film footage from Chicago Film Archives, NEDtalks, Adventure Sandwich and the Drunken Spelling Bee! So much to do, learn about it here

We’ve got an action packed week here so let’s get into it…
Tonight we’ve are so excited to have an intimate evening with Jeremy David Miller of the Rambos and Ryan Anderson of Go Long Mule. They will be joined by special guests throughout the evening for this cool acoustic evening.
Friday we’ve got an early show with the always hilarious God, Sex, Death, Variety Hour with Danny Black.
Later Friday we’ve got a stellar double bill with the eclectic upbeat sound with family party band sensibilities ofWild Jesus & the Devil’s Lettuce and the always memorable Black Bear Combo. There will be some spectacle to these shows that will have to be seen to be believed.
Saturday we are very excited to have our taps taken over by Revolution Brewery in support of Craft BeerWeek. They are supplying the great beer and we have the great bands for you. Co-headlining is none other then Sybris and the psych-peddlers and reverb rookies of Outer Minds.
The dance party that evening will be none of other than RETREAT who will help you dance your ass off on thisfirst Saturday of the summer season.
Sunday afternoon please join our dear friends of the Hideout, Jenny Hines and her father, as they raise money for their August Mt. Rainier climb to benefit the organization Big City Mountaineers.
Monday is another evening with Robbie Fulks who will be performing Bob Dylan’s Street Legal with a full band.
Tuesday begins with the the punchiest thing to hit literature since Hemingway, Write Club!
Following that, we have The Chandeliers on their third night of their residency. Joined by openers Bad Guysthis is one night of the series that you won’t want to miss.
Wednesday the Immediate Sound Series presents a solo piano set with Jim Baker followed by the NRG Ensemble playing Sun Ra. DJ Sets by Corbett vs. Dempsey.
