Disaster Kid:
Disaster Kid, the Chicago-based “nostalgia” rock band, is keen to write a song that remembers. Their debut EP, Rare Bird, released in March 2025, defines a range of musicality that staggers between twangy folk rock and introspective power pop, allowing each song to center around songwriter Seamus Kreitzer’s strengths of matching careful lyrical reflection with passionate melodies. Disaster Kid formed piece by piece in Chicago over the course of several years, each member a transplant hailing from different states. They now all claim home to the city, embedded in its rich and vibrant community of artists and musicians.
