The Spectral Distortions
The Spectral Distortions is a Chicago-based punk band that consists (mostly) of people who do physics research for their day jobs. Frenetic, loud, and abrasive, their songs are often about science or science culture, and can be both playful and introspective. They are generally regarded as our universe’s premiere physics punk band.

Vortis
Vortis is a band with a direct take on music: harnessing the point of maximum energy. The songs are tight and to the quick, taking apt lessons from ’50s rock ‘n’ roll song structures, the Ramones’ punk melodies, and Wire’s attention to precision and detail. Songs rarely clock in over the two-minute mark, and the band’s live performances are tight and ferocious assaults with no pauses.

Yellow Pills
Yellow Pills began as a solo project and evolved into a 4 piece band over time. While most of the albums remain largely solo, the live version of the project remains just as groovy and eclectic as everything heard on all 6 albums. The group is on New Jersey’s Mint 400 Records and operates in Chicago.
