Come celebrate 20 years of the Secret History of Chicago Music column in the Chicago Reader! Written/drawn by Plastic Crimewave aka Steve Krakow, nearly 500 SHoCM features have run, covering overlooked Windy City musicians from genres like jazz, soul, blues, experimental, psychedelic, punk and beyond.
We’re honored to have soul god Renaldo Domino (Numero Group), backed by the Heavy Sounds along with the Heart of Chicago Soul Club DJs. Led by Debbie Koller, they spin all vinyl, and “Rare Soul with the Heart of Chicago in mind. We not only have heart, we have rare soul.”
