The Interview Show: Stephen Malkmus & Claire Pollard

The Interview Show With Mark Bazer is back at The Hideout for a special show benefiting Serve & Return Chicago.

Serve & Return Chicago encourages participation at all levels of tennis by awarding grants and scholarships, and places an emphasis upon programs which offer local, entry-level tennis to youth players.

Other than being at The Hideout, there’s no place Mark likes to be more than on a tennis court, so he’s thrilled to have two tennis-loving guests on the show to help raise some money and awareness for this great local organization.

STEPHEN MALKMUS is a singer and guitarist in the groups Pavement, The Jicks and the Hard Quartet and was a member of Silver Jews. A graduate of the University of Virginia and a tennis enthusiast, he lives in Chicago.

CLAIRE POLLARD took over as Northwestern’s head women’s tennis coach prior to the 1999 season, and, in 27 seasons at the helm of the program, has brought the Wildcats from a regular contender in the Big Ten to a national powerhouse. A decorated collegiate player, Pollard won the 1989 NCAA Doubles Championship and, in 1989 as a pro, participated in the Wimbledon and U.S. Open Championships. 

The Interview Show is a long-running live talk show that began at The Hideout during the early days of the Obama administration. It’s been a WTTW show and now like, all things, is a podcast. More info at: www.theinterviewshowchicago.com
