Sleeper’s Bell spit-shines dive bar wisdom into polished folk-rock.
Well over a decade ago, songwriters and multi-instrumentalists Sarah Rose and Sarah Nienaber began crafting their music in Minneapolis. They moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2014, and after years of exploring the West Coast, the duo recently returned to the Midwest, settling in western Wisconsin—a move that feels like coming home. Shady Cove, their latest incarnation, draws upon a deep well of shared history, creative evolution, and a sense of place that is as nostalgic as it is forward-looking.
The duo has released two records as Shady Cove—their self-titled debut in 2021 (Park the Van) and 2024’s Shady Cove Part II. Across shimmering guitars, layered synths, and vocals that oscillate between the intimate and the expansive, their music explores themes of longing and the beauty of never quite arriving. Their return to the Midwest marks the next chapter in an ever-evolving journey—one shaped by movement, transformation, and the quiet pull of home.
