LP’s Happy Hour: Jonas Friddle’s Jug Band

Longtime Hideout staple Lawrence Peters hosts this weekly showcase featuring artists from many corners of Chicago’s storied country/western scene.

This week: Jonas Friddle’s Jug Band
Jonas Friddle is a North Carolina born singer, songwriter and Old-Time banjo player whose songs have received The John Lennon Songwriting Award, First Place in the Great American Song Contest and a nomination for Album of the Year in the Independent Music Awards. For the past decade Jonas has lived in Chicago while recording music with some of the city’s top players. His most recent project “The Jug Band Happy Hour” is a tribute to his early days in the Windy City, playing the jug band blues at the Hideout Inn. The music has a raucous sound that takes good time music to the next level.
