8-bit crEEps
8-bit crEEps new album “Sunset From The Shallows” releases at this show pressed on beautiful randomly colored vinyl by Smashed Plastic here in Chicago!

8-bit crEEps are a psych-wave quartet in a polygamist marriage with new-wave synths, fuzzed-out guitars and driving beats. The band has been experimenting with these sonic elements and conceptual storytelling since 2016. Inspired by a lone nameless figure that haunted dimly lit Chicago arcades in the early 90’s. Their dilated pupils were equal parts apathy and anxiety. Desperately foraging in the ripped pocket of a jean jacket for one last quarter. These pixelated memories and square-wave soundtracks left strange impressions on young minds. This is where you’ll find those impressions.  We ask that you attribute any defective material to the stresses of nepotism, capitalism and cognitive dissonance. That is to say, come on friends! Let’s party!

Ovef Ow
Bio (taken from a review we like): Chicago’s Ovef Ow have been making synth heavy art punk for the better part of the last ten years, pulling influences that seem to range from B-52s and Devo to The Raincoats and Sleater-Kinney. Agitation is met with upbeat party anthems, paired together to create a swarm of new wave jangle and rough but friendly post-punk. Synths peel, drip, and flail across guitars, bass, and drums, ringing out with surfy exuberance, the band’s entire mood shifting between sunburnt joy to a stumbling sense of bliss. Chicken Happen
Female-fronted power trio, Chicken Happen, have been captivating the Chicago rock scene since 2011 with their fat riffs and catchy hooks. Lilly Choi is a powerhouse vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with the versatility to hit you deep in your feels or get your head bangin’. Her keyboard and guitar riffs are held down with the support of longtime friends and bandmates Zack Hjelmstad (bass) and Mark Gianforte (drums). Not conforming to one particular sound, this genre-bending rock group creates music that has real heart that you can feel with conviction in every note in each song. Patiently cultivating their sound and musical abilities over the years, they’re ready to break out onto the scene and captivate your eardrums.
