Block Party is go!

It’s true: The Hideout Block Party is b-a-c-k.
Today’s announcement of the lineup set blogs buzzing all over the interwebs. As well it should have, considering the roster of amazingness being angled into position for a September 24 liftoff. In the words of Tim Tuten: “The Hideout will celebrate its 15th Birthday Party with our friends Andrew Bird, Mavis Staples, Jon Langford, and more on Saturday, September 24, the first weekend of autumn. The Hideout Block Party has been called “Perennially the Best Music Festival in Chicago” and has raised over $250,000 for various local charities over the last 15 years.”
And, in the words of Chicagoist, it’s “a holy-shit lineup … that Hideout regulars, Bloodshot worshippers, people who hang on every word written at Pitchfork, DeRogatis and Kot can agree is one of the strongest in the Block Party’s history.”
In honor of all the awesome, here’s a very special behind-the-scenes video of one of the high points of Block Parties past: The 2008 Thrilleropocalypse, with Robbie Fulks and Rhymefest and a ridiculous posse of Hideout dancers. How have I never seen this one till now? I particularly like the shots of Tim getting his zombie on.
